IEBA conducts numerous classes over the course of each year focusing on topics for all levels of Beekeepers; from beginners, 2d year, experienced, hobyists, side-line, and commercial. We have an extensive support network for the beginners starting with the Basic Beekeepers Course with its hands on training in our bee yard to monthly meetings that focus on education and opportunities for discussions with experienced beekeepers. We provide the documents and testing services for those who desire to be certified Apprentice Beekeepers. We also have additional classes for 2nd year beekeepers and those wishing to pursue their Journeyman certification.
There are Four pages (for IEBA members) within this topic area that break down three of the main categories of our formal education program. The fourth page contains a list of power point presentation slides available for member use. This page will deal with information that is applicable to all levels.
IEBA encourages every member to sample there hives and send the samples to WSU. Below is the sampling techniques and a colony health survey. Follow these and your good to go. We do collect samples at the Aug meeting and at the Picnic and send them down as a group if you like.
